The Senior Software Engineer is a technical expert who designs, develops, and deploys high performance software solutions while providing advanced guidance to engineering teams. This role leverages deep technical knowledge to solve complex problems and drive the implementation of scalable, reliable code architecture in alignment with broad company objectives. .

Responsibilities will include

  • Design and implement high-performance database schemas and scalable code architectures

  • Lead the review and correction of code to ensure quality, security, and adherence to design patterns

  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders including Product and UX to solve significant technical issues

  • Mentor and empower offshore development teams through consistent technical oversight and communication

  • Contribute to all phases of the software development life-cycle within an Agile environment

  • Optimize high-traffic website operations and provide proactive maintenance for optimal performance

  • Direct the application of engineering principles to develop new policies and technical ideas consistent with organizational values

  • Anticipate strategic technical challenges and interpret complex business issues to recommend best-practice solutions

  • Lead portions of cross-functional projects, serving as a best-practice and quality resource for the engineering department

  • Work independently on complex situations, making high-level judgments on methods and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively by meeting deadlines and managing workload efficiently.

  • Maintain professional interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-stress environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Recognized expertise in software engineering with advanced, wide-ranging experience in multiple development disciplines

  • Proficiency in web-based application processes, SQL, and PHP/Python at an enterprise level, or related technical experience that works regardless of the tech stack.

  • Proven ability to adapt complex techniques to solve problems where precedent does not exist

  • Strong persuasion and consultation skills to advise diverse stakeholders on complex technical matters

  • Deep understanding of standard systems development life-cycle processes and Agile methodologies

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; or a Master’s degree; or a PhD

  • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree

  • 6 years of related experience with a Master’s degree

  • 3 years of related experience with a PhD

AI & Operational Fluency

  • AI Integration: Utilize company-approved GenAI tools to accelerate high-value deliverables.

  • Strategic Oversight: Exercise critical judgment as the "Human-in-the-Loop," by auditing AI outputs for factual accuracy, brand alignment, and the removal of hallucinations.

  • Data Governance: Ensures no proprietary or Personally Identifiable Information (PII) data is exposed to unauthorized models.

  • Prompt Competency: Demonstrates the ability to craft clear, context-rich prompts to achieve consistent, high-quality results across various business domains.
