The Network Operations Engineer will provide crucial support for the technical processes and operations that are critical to Entrata’s site reliability and availability. As a NOC engineer, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues that affect the availability and quality of the Entrata infrastructure and the customer experience. You will help maintain site awareness by detecting service deviations, monitoring changes, and identifying and resolving issues before they escalate. In addition to resolving incidents, you will also help determine the root cause of problems and develop long-term solutions. As a NOC Engineer at Entrata, in addition to being key to Entrata’s success, you will also have the ability to share ideas, collaborate and develop solutions to problems, and progress to other responsibilities within the company.
Responsibilities will include
- Takes proactive ownership of identifying potential internal challenges and evaluates their impact on NOC operations and interdependent roles
- Applies industry best practices and a deep understanding of business priorities to enhance the reliability and efficiency of services, systems, and workflows.
- Actively supports the delivery of project tasks within cross-functional teams and takes ownership of executing specific components or phases of projects under NOC responsibility.
- Analyzes a wide range of complex network and system-related issues, determining appropriate responses and resolutions by applying deep technical expertise.
- Adapts standard procedures creatively to meet operational demands and recommends alternative solutions to maintain service continuity and performance.
- Serves as a key resource and point of guidance for less experienced team members, sharing knowledge and supporting skill development within the NOC Automation of routine tasks to address more complex systems and infrastructure.
- Provide timely, accurate, and effective communication on service-impacting events.
- Work on a small team with high impact.
- Work with executives to align the team with the suite roadmap.
- Work independently with very little guidance in most complex situations.
- Address technical and non-technical escalations.
- Manage and document Standards, Policies, and Processes for the NOC.
- Create and maintain RCCA documents (Root Cause and Corrective Action) for issues in production.
- Normal operating hours with some weekend “available” work (no graves, swing shifts).
Minimum Qualifications
- Holds a Bachelor’s Degree.
- 4+ years of Technical support/Systems administration/NOC background desirable.
- Understanding of infrastructure environments - Virtualized servers, Storage, Networks, Databases, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Basic understanding of monitoring technologies such as Zabbix, New Relic and Grafana.
- Must have experience implementing and maintaining monitoring policies and best practices.
- Knowledge of scripting, ability to learn and become skilled in this area (Bash/Python).
- Basic understanding of Runbooks, Rundeck
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of Linux (Ubuntu), AWS services, cloud technologies, change management, incident management, and monitoring tools (Zabbix, New Relic, Grafana).
- Basic knowledge of Cloud.
