About the Role

The Quality Technician is responsible for ensuring that all products, components, and sub-assemblies meet quality standards and customer specifications before they are shipped or moved to the next phase of production. This role involves conducting visual and function tests, examining materials, reading specifications, using precision measuring tools, and documenting inspection results to maintain high levels of quality control. As well as perform process audits, root cause analysis, nonconformance review and disposition, and assist in rework/repair.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with inspection and testing of high-voltage and low-voltage electrical assemblies and wiring, as well as mechanical assemblies for defects and any deviations from specifications
  • Read and interpret prints, schematics, engineering drawings, or product manuals to determine required standards
  • Use precision measuring tools for electrical and mechanical assemblies, such as microscopes, multimeters, calipers, micrometers, gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM)
  • Identify and reject all products and materials that fail to meet quality expectations and clearly label them for disposition and analysis
  • Document inspection results by completing detailed reports and logs, and input data into the company database and quality tracking systems
  • Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to perform in depth root causes analysis and testing to identify defects and suggest improvements
  • Assist quality management and engineering teams to investigate reported issues
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment. Follow company policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and guidelines, to ensure compliance with applicable regulations
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Required Experience

  • High school diploma
  • 3+ years experience in a technical manufacturing environment
  • Solid basic math skills, Basic computer skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong attention to detail and quality control
  • A passion for continuous learning and process refinement

Preferred Experience

  • Associates Degree and/or certifications in quality control is a plus (IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620)
  • Experience working with test fixtures and test reports
  • Experience with quality management software
  • Proficiency in reading prints, technical documents, and schematics
  • Hands-on experience with precision measuring tools (multimeters, oscilloscope, calipers, micrometers, gauges)

Schedule Full-Time, Hourly

Compensation: $25-$32 (Note: We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)

Physical Requirements

  • Must have the ability to safely lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be capable of standing, bending, and executing repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to read, identify, observe and recognize details, color-coding and fine print at close range on associated engineering drawings.
  • Ability to don personal protective equipment to include, but not limited to, respiratory protective equipment with proper seal, coveralls, ear protection, gloves, eye protection & safety helmet.
  • Ability to observe, detect and respond to audible and visual machine malfunction warnings.
  • Ability to communicate information so others can understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Must report to work reliably and with the ability to use full and unimpaired skills and judgment to safely execute your job.
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English required.
