The Role
The Tech I Assembly Technician is an entry-level position focused on performing basic UAV assembly tasks under close supervision. This position is designed to build fundamental skills in soldering, wiring, and component integration while ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and 5S standards. Tech I technicians learn to follow established SOPs and quality checklists while supporting the team's production
throughput.
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic drone assembly tasks such as connector installation, harness
routing, and sub-component preparation under direct guidance. - Follow SOPs and work instructions precisely to ensure safety and quality
compliance. - Maintain a clean, organized workspace in alignment with 5S principles.
- Complete required in-process checks and prepare units for QC inspection.
- Report any non-conformances or unsafe conditions immediately to the cell lead or
supervisor
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Experience in an electronics manufacturing and test environment or a strong willingness and interest to learn.
- Ability to solder wires to PCBA's and build cable assemblies. IPC certification a plus.
- Ability to perform mechanical assembly on drones using hand tools
- Proficiency in following work instructions accurately.
- Positive attitude and keen attention to detail.
- Reliability and dedication to acquiring and enhancing skills in a technical manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications/Experience:
- Previous experience in UAS/Drone space.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and fine motor skills for operating equipment and performing assembly tasks.
- Visual acuity for conducting quality inspections on small components.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and other industrial elements.
